lifeofascholar asked: I came through fall 2011 and got a wonderful big that has changed my life. My best friend/sister in chapter got a big that was perfect for her. When her big got an internship, she felt left out in chapter & asked for a temp big, a god-big. The chapter gave her MY big as a god-big and now, those two are inseparable and it's like I don't exist anymore. If we were twins from the get go, okay. I don't feel it's fair to me & it's ruining our friendship & my relationship with my big. I'm stuck. Help!

First of all this sucks and I’m really sorry you feel left out and that your relationship with your big is being ruined. I can relate because my Big is now someone else’s big as well and I feel like they have a lot more history and things in common. What I did was made an effort to spend time with each of them separately to find something that connected us. That worked for a while but at one point I confronted my Big and just told her how I was feeling. Maybe you should try that too. Just be honest with your Big and tell her how you’re feeling. I’m sure she isn’t doing it on purpose and would much rather know than let you continue feeling the way you do.

Does anyone have any advice for lifeofascholar or similar experiences with this sort of thing?

feellikeawaterfall asked: Do you have any COB ideas?

Do you mean like events and such?

I went Greek because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. My sorority has been around since 1851 and there are so many fabulous women out there that I now share a bond with, and there are so many more to come. I’m just a tiny piece of the whole puzzle but it’s left such an incredible mark on me!

Anonymous asked: Is it weird to rush junior year?? I really want to, but I'm afraid I will have missed out on too much.

No way!! So many of my sisters didn’t rush their freshman year. Sure you won’t be a collegian as long as most, but you’re still going to experience just as much as everyone else. I say go for it!

tangledlips asked: I know someone asked why we would go greek a while ago. And I don't think that this is a very specific reason, but I only have loner letters right now because I am a pledge. And every time I put them on, I feel protected, that I am invincible and my sisters have my back. And they have already proved that. I also have had possibly the worst week of my life that I can remember of, again, my sisters have been there.

Anonymous asked: The star burst game is a classic where each color is a different question.

oh yeah!

Man do I love all these games that involve candy ( :

holdyourtruthso--purely asked: For the question about ice breakers, at my sorority, we write questions on jenga blocks, and then we play jenga. Whatever question is on the block you pull, you have to answer it.

That’s a really cool idea

sliimlove asked: I went greek because I had nobody at my school that I knew. I figured it would be something fun to be involved in...but it has been SO much more. Joining my house has changed my life. I have grown in ways that i would have never imagined. i have people to count on at all times and be there for me no matter how big or little the situation is. i have something to believe in. i have bridesmaids. i have a philanthropy i love. i have a purpose. i have amazing best friends. i have my family now.

wiilddatheartt asked: I went Greek because I wanted to join something that was bigger than myself. Joining Greek life gives you a huge support system, it turns you into a better man or woman. You do countless hours of service and raise tons of money, and the people you meet will be your best friends for life! It was easily the best decision I ever made!

cor10a asked: I went Greek because I wanted a group of friends, no strike that, a FAMILY that i couldn't get anywhere else. My goal in life is to help others, but no one has ever tried to help me. Greek Life did that for me, without me even realizing it. My sorority has made me realize that it's okay to be who I am, and it's okay to love others as they are. Maybe Greek Life isn't for everyone, but for the ones who join, the rewards are always better than expected.

I love this response ( :
