A video in which I discuss getting a position in a Greek organization.

Anonymous asked: Is it too late to rush as a sophomore in spring semester? I go to the University of Pittsburgh which doesn't have the biggest greek organization but I am still curious. I don't want to be the only sophomore during Spring rush. Help me out!!

Not at all!! It’s completely normal for sophomores, juniors, and even seniors to go Greek! If you’re interested, definitely rush.

Anonymous asked: Do little's give their big's gifts on the day of big/little reveal?

My sorority gives gifts for the week leading up to the event and one final gift at big/little reveal ( :

Any suggestions for posts?!?

little?

Anonymous asked: When I got my big I was really excited. Our family went for dinner the night of reveal but I haven't heard from her since. I've asked her to do things on several occasions but she always has an excuse. What could I do to get my big to be more sisterly towards me? I feel so out of place because everyone else in my pledge class hangs out with their big and talks about how great it is. I hate missing out on things in the Greek community bc she doesn't guide me like a big should. Any suggestions?

I would talk to your Pledge Sister Educator that you feel your Big isn’t really guiding you or upholding the standards she may have agreed to when deciding she wanted a little. I would also flat out confront your Big and ask her why she hasn’t been around. That’s not fair of her at all.

smilesandgrace asked: We start with 3-4 days of big/little "mixers" where they do different activities to get to know each other. On the last night both groups rank who they want and fill out a survey about the type of relationship they want and their expectations. Then two days later there's an event where they are revealed. How they find out is different every year. We've done puzzles, people in presents and string throughout the house .

Awe that sounds like a lot of fun!

Big/Little reveal

Submitted by kerrianne89:

So basically the premise of Big/Little Week is the build up to the day where your Big is revealed to you while you are going through your new member process.  Often at times organizations have games and activities that would have the pledge or incoming new member and active sisters and Bigs interact every day of the week.  Secretly, the Bigs and Littles would be around each other often.  Also, Bigs sometimes send little gifts like candy and such and cards just saying “I’m so excited to get to know you” without revealing who they are throughout the week.  The last day, the reveal is the day where the Little FINALLY finds out who their Big is.  You can get very creative with games and little gifts that do not cost a lot of money.

Every org is different, but make it your own because Big/Little Reveal is one of the most important things during many processes.

Hope this helps! I’m in Sigma Delta Tau and even our chapters differ in their rituals all over the country.

i-lv-y-s-mch asked: Our big/ little week of starts out how the pledges don't know who their bigs are, but the bigs surprise them with gifts, clues, notes, balloons, and go allllll out to surprise/confuse our littles so they don't know who we are. Then the night of the reveal is ritual, but they get paired up and that's when they get their baskets and chests of gifts with their family colors and patterns, and big/little pictures. Hope that helps!

kidwithadditude asked: What is the Big/Little reveal and the week? Can you give examples. My sorority doesn't do this but I want to start

My sorority doesn’t really do a Big/Little week, and reveals are different depending on the organization. My organization has a specific ritual for reveal and then bigs and littles always go out to dinner afterward. There are usually gifts as well!!

Can anyone help universityscribbles get a better understanding of big/little week and reveal?! Thanks!
